We Believe That...
We believe that...
- God desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth (1 Timothy 2:3-4).
- Jesus invites all men to enter into eternal rest (Matthew 11:28-30; Revelation 22:17; Revelation 22:1-5, 14).
- It is not easy to enter into heaven. Some people who think they should enter heaven will be lost (Matthew 7:13-14, 21-23; Luke 13:24-28)
We believe that...
- We must believe in Jesus Christ (John 3:16).
- We must receive Jesus as the authority for our life (John 1:12)
- We must receive Jesus's words (John 12:48)
- We are under Christ's law (1 Corinthians 9:21).
- We must obey Jesus (Hebrews 5:9).
- We must fulfill the law of Christ (Galatians 6:2).
- We must hear and obey the gospel to be saved. The gospel is God's power unto salvation for everyone who believes. (Mark 1:15; Romans 1:5, 16, 10:17; 1 Corinthians 1:18; 2 Thessalonians 1:8)
- We must take up our cross and follow Jesus (Matthew 16:24-26; Luke 14:26-27, 33).
- Salvation is in Jesus (Acts 4:10-12; 2 Timothy 2:10).
We believe that...
- We enter into Christ through baptism (Romans 6:3; 1 Corinthians 12:13; Galatians 3:27)
- Baptism is a water burial (Romans 6:3-4; Colossians 2:12)
- We must have an obedient faith to be saved (Matthew 16:16; Galatians 5:6; James 1:21-2:26).
- We must repent (a change of mind resulting in a change in action) (Luke 13:3, 5).
- We must confess Jesus before men (Matthew 10:32-33; Romans 10:10)
- We must believe and be baptized to be saved (Mark 16:16; Acts 16:30-33).
- We must repent and be baptized for the remission of sins. The Lord adds the saved to the church. (Acts 2:38-47)
- Our sins are washed away when we are baptized (Acts 22:16).
- The Lord adds the saved to His body, the Church (Acts 2:47; Col 1:18, 24)
We believe that...
- We must endure to the end (Matthew 10:22).
- We must hold fast to the word to be saved (1 Corinthians 15:2; Colossians 1:23, 2:19).
- We must continue in the faith to be saved (Colossians 1:23).
- We must be diligent to enter into God's eternal rest (Hebrews 4:11; Hebrews 4:1).
- Our names must be written in the Book of Life to be saved (Revelation 3:5, 20:15; Philippians 4:3).
