Why Wasn't The Adulterous Woman Condemned?
The Pharisees tried to trap Jesus by bringing an adulterous woman before Him and asking what should be done with her. However, the Pharisees out-smarted themselves by not presenting her in strict accordance with the Law of Moses. They had no choice but to abandon their failed effort. Jesus had kept the Law while the Pharises had broken it. The accusers had become the accused.
Jesus did not come to earth to change the Law of Moses, He came to fulfill the it. Not one bit of the Law had been altered by the time it was taken out of effect on the Cross and replaced by the Gospel on the Day of Pentcost.
In harmony with the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus may have been introducing a bit of mercy into the way the Pharisees were practicing the Law of Moses.
